Blogger Custom Domain Using NameCheap

I bought two .net domains on Namecheap. One is for my Ninja Saga blog  and the other one is for this blog. I bought .net domains because the .com is no longer available. But why do I use Namecheap instead of other popular sites like Godaddy? When I bought these domains,  my Paypal account is not verified. Namecheap accepts payments from unverified Paypal accounts. Below are the steps on how to achieve perfect redirection in Blogger and Namecheap.

1. Register you account first on Namecheap. After registration, immediately buy your domain name. A step by step instructions will be provided by Namecheap for you to follow.

2. After buying your domain name, open your Blogger account and do the following:

From your Blogger dashboard, select the blog you would like to have a custom domain. Click the "Settings" tab and then the "Publishing" tab located at the top left corner. Click the "Custom Domain" link and after that the" Switch to Advance Settings".

3. Input the domain name which you recently bought. After which you completed all the fields, hit "Save Settings". Review your settings, put a check on the redirect to box as seen below:

4. Login to your Namecheap account > Click on My Account > Manage Domains

5. Click on the domain name which you set for blog. Click on URL Forwarding under Host Management located on the left corner.

6. Enter the Following details

7. Hit Save and you are done!

What's your ultimate reason in blogging?

To be honest, I am not interested in blogging at all last two years ago. I hate writing, I hate reading, I hate lots of work to do. I see blogging as only an online book when I try to search for something online. And just copy paste the articles and submit them to my professor. Then one day, things just changed.

I was in search for financial freedom. I googled for make money online and learned that It was possible to earn online. My very first attempt to earn online was PTC sites. Then I've learned that most of them are scam so I search and search. From PTCs to GPTs, paid to search, paid to receive emails, etc and now I can't believe I am blogging for money.

If it was not for money, I am not here today. And of course, my second reason was to learn. I blog to learn. When you blog, you also read other blogs and learn from them. I guess most people blog for money. Although blogging is not easy as ABC and 123s, people try their luck(include me) just to earn. Blogging provides passive income unlike other money making methods. That is why blogging is so popular.

How about you? What is your ultimate reason in blogging?

What is an Autoblog and How do it works

A lot of people were asking what is an autoblog all about, how it works, how to do it and how to make money from it. Do you know that autoblogs can make you lots of money as if you are having a regular blog? Especially if you have many of them. What we are talking about here was an "automatic blog" not a blog for cars or autos.

So what is an autoblog?
An autoblog is a blog that automatically generates content. Most of autloblogs are in WordPress Platform because of the plugins that can be use to generate contents. But you can also create a Blogger autoblog using some scripts. The plugins or scripts do the work; writing contents, posting videos, photos etc. You set the blog and forget it.

Why do people create autoblogs?
People create autoblogs to make money online. They monetize it through Adsense or any other CPC networks. You can also monetize them using affiliate offers. Autoblogs are also used in backlink building. Autoblogs are easy to set up, imagine having a thousand autoblog and imagine how many backlinks you can get. People create autoblogs to drive traffic to another site. Some autoblogs rank good in SE, and now you get the point on how to drive traffic.

How do autoblogs get traffic?
Autoblogs are usually set and forget. You set it and forget it. If you created your autoblog using WordPress, you can use plugins to submit your contents to social bookmarking sites and SE to get them index. Your traffic will come mostly on search engines. But you can also pay for some backlink building services if you wanted to.

On the next articles about autoblogs, I will teach you how to create an autoblog on WP and Blogger. Some tips and tricks on autoblogging and some legal issues to talk about them. So stay tune!

When is the right time to monetize your blog?

According to kidblogger Carlo you should start to monetize your blog from the start. There is no good reason to not to monetize it. What if there were traffic spikes? Yellowminded on the other hand stated that there is nothing wrong with monetizing your blog from the start but it affects your focus on building traffic and quality backlinks if you find yourself checking your earnings everyday.

Actually there are no right or wrong answers to the question. Basically you can choose from the two options; put ads until you get traffic and/or put ads as you go.

Monetize until you have traffic

Without traffic, you won't make anything so there is no need to monetize your blog. You may want to start building traffic first. Monetizing it early will affect your focus in building traffic.

Monetize your blog as you go

Having ads on your blog coming from Google Adsense, Adbrite, Bidvertiser, etc. does'nt require too much effort. You just put some codes and leave it as you go building traffic. So why not monetize it from the very start?

My personal preference

I suggest monetizing your blog as you go. That is what I do when I created this blog. Monetizing my blog using adsense from the start gives me  the control of the design of my blog. If I started to build traffic first then I would have to choose a non-adsense ready template and when the time comes that I would monetize my blog, I would have to switch another template and its painful. Second reason was, my readers will get use to the ads that was placed on my blog. Thus avoiding negative comments.

Three Killer Steps in Advertising your Blog for Free

Content is king but without promotion, your blog is useless. Your writing may be excellent but writing alone won't do much in promoting your precious blog. Writing a blog and advertising it are equally important. Heavy promotion of your blog may end up with dissatisfied visitors if yor not writing quality contents. Similarly, writing excellent contents won't do much without having it promoted. This is true, especially when you are new in blogging.

Here are 3 killer steps in advertising your blog. And guess what, It is free!

Promote your Blog in Forums

A forum is a place on the cyberspace where people interact with each other. They chat , ask questions and share information. What you do was search for a popular forum related to your blog contents. Interact with people, chat, share informations etc. You must build up relationship with the people in the forum. In the forum, there is a " Signature Section". Attach your blog advertising message with your blog's url. Everytime you post or reply to a message, your signature will automatically appear. People who see your post will also see your attach signature.

Connect with other Blogs

Your blog won't survive on its own. Find blogger groups on the internet and join. Swap links, guest post, comment on posts,  share and promote each other's blog. I remember my first time I blog at blogger. I wrote excellent post on health issues. I have wrote 120 articles and never promote them. I wonder why there is no traffic so I deleted the blog. Hope that won't happen to you.

Give Something for Free

What free? Free information. Write articles 250-500 words and submit them to article directories. By submitting free information on directories, you are building trust with other people. One lesson you must  learn before making money was to build trust. Everytime you submit an article on article directories, attach a little bio about you and your blog. It is a great way of advertising your blog.

These 3 steps are basic but effective and free in promoting your blog. I hope this helps you. Let me know what you think.

The Best Blogging Tip: Don't Rush to Blog

Sometimes, we find ourselves being impatient with our blogging career. We post often and we care so much with posting intervals. This results to " rushing to blog". This affects our blog readership. Here is what you do if you fell rushing to blog.

Relax. If we are in the state of relaxation, we are able to write well and come up with a quality and interesting post. This is a very good advice espcially for newbie bloggers.

Posting Interval. You don't have to write on a regular posting interval. Just wait until you could come up with a decent, fresh content before you post. Your readers will be looking ofr your next post if you are posting quality contents. Remember that content is king. You are likely to lose your audience if you regularly post but with dull contents and NOT if you missed your regualr posting schedule.

Read other blogs. You could come up with interesting posts from other blog posts. Link to the blogpost and you make your fellow blogger happy. Reading other blogs will give you ideas on your next set of posts.

AFK. AFK means away from keyboard. Move away from your computer for once. Go out and spend time with your friends. Or read a book. This will also give you an oppurtunity to come up with an idea for your next post.

Write on different topics. Obviously, your audience love to read your blog because it is on a certain topic. But it doens't have to be always like this. Sometimes you would have to write on other ideas that excite your audience. I am not saying that it is a good practice but if you really love to post, you could post on various topics.

Done! If you feel rushing to blog, you could comeback and read these tips. I would like to read your comments about this. What do you think of these tips?

Blog Content:Struggling for Writing Ideas?

When we start our first blog, we got lots of ideas and we are eager to post. But after posting a couple of times, you'll end up staring your computer thinking on what to write.

If you are experiencing this blogging problem, here are some tips for you.

1. Get some fresh contents. You can get it from newspapers, television, magazine, etc. it doesn't matter where it will come from. But we are not copying ones content here. Just jot down ideas and sprinkle it with your own critique and opinion. Isn't it easy to post using this method?

2. What's your reason in blogging? Was it to earn money? Or to write something you are passionate or in expertise? What ever your reason, I know that there is more than one, so try to remember it and it will be a kick start for your posting.

3.Let someone take over. Hire a writer or outsource some work. you might also want to look for guest posters. Just as long that they write the same idea as you.

This was just simple tips to jump start to your posting again. You can do one of these or do these three tips.

Agent Mango's Blogger Story!

I discovered Blogger in my search for financial freedom. Because I've read that you can earn money from blogging. But before I create my blog on Blogger, I opt in for fast making money online resources; paid-to-click,paid-to-review,internet marketing, blackhat stuffs and even cookie stuffing.

I made decent money out of these stuffs. I enjoyed it at first but eventually get tired. Because some sites were scams, short term oriented and others require much work. So I look for better and long term resource of making money. After reading facts about blogging, I immediately create my blog at Blogger. I found Blogger when I google the word Blogging.

My first blog was the I Love My Health blog (now dead). And my second blog was this blog PC Holics. I deleted the health blog for some reasons. The reason is secret hehe. But I really wanted to continue the health blog. Now I am blogging here at PC Holics and other blogs which I applied as a ghost writer.

I am still newbie when it comes to blogging but hey I've already made my first payout on Adsense. Not only I am paid via blogging. I also improve my skills because of Blogger. Skills like typing because I use my keyboard everyday typing articles, I expanded my vocabulary, and etc. I also met many friends because of Blogging. I learn social networking and I become a tech savvy because of blogging. How thankful I am that I've met Blogger.

I can't tell all what Blogger has done to me. No words can tell. This is for now my Blogger story. Do you have a Blogger story? Write a post about it then submit it here .

Blogger is turning 10!

Blogger is turning 10 years this late August. Blogger was first launch on August 23, 1999 (I was 10 years old that time). It was launch by Pyra Labs and was purchased by Google on February 2003. Here is some interesting facts about Blogger from Buzz Blogger:

Every minute of every day, 270,000 words are written on Blogger

Millions of people worldwide use Blogger to publish to their blog each week

Almost two thirds of Blogger's traffic comes from outside North America (What's the #2 country after the U.S.? Brazil, followed by Turkey, Spain, Canada, and the U.K.)

The most popular sport for our bloggers? Soccer (that's football to the rest of the world), more than four times larger than the #2 sport, baseball

I've been using Blogger for over a year now on different blogs. Blogger is user friendly. I never had a problem dealing with it. And guys, do you have a Blogger story to tell? Write a post about it and let Blogger know about your story by filling up this form.

Does your free blog hosting suits you?

When we all started our blogs, we faced the same dilemma of choosing our blog hosting.Their are lots of blogging websites that provide free hosting like WordPress and Blogger and many more. I have listed them in my post "250+ free Blog Sites". Debate still continues whether to host your blog on your own domain or just the free hosting. Of course, in that situation, their is always a good and bad.

Free hosting sites provide users with free blogs. However, free hosted blogs have the format like "agentmango@blogger.com" or "agentmango@wordpress.com". You always carry the name of the host provider. And some have restrictions because your blog is free hosted. You will only be able to escape this restrictions if you will acquire your own domain name.

But the question is, Why should we host our blog with them? Simple, because it is free. No cent at all to spend. You won't even mind the space and bandwidth of your blog. It is all provided by the host provider but of course it is limited. They also provide simple tools for you to use. You won't also worry about your blog's maintenance.

However, free hosted blogs are limited. You won't have full control of your blog. Also you cannot have strong branding and marketing. Your potential customers will not benefit you if they know you are using free blogs.

Generally speaking, free blogs really don't give you much. But I am not saying that free blogs are inappropriate for everyone. As you can see, I am using free blog from Blogger too. And I am not saying that you won't make anything with free blogs. As a matter of fact, I just got my first payment from Google Adsense last month.

If you're looking too make much money online, having your own domain name is recommended.

250+ Free Blog Sites

No BS. Just a free list of sites where you can create your free blog. Where can you use these sites? Blackhatters use this for creating a blog farm. Some make autoblogs from these sites. But the most popular of course from these sites is WordPress and Blogger. Some use these sites for backlinks. They use a software that would gather these sites and search for PR pages.

Reasons Why to use Blogs

I have already mentioned a good use of blog in my post “Making your Blog as your Website”. Blogs are becoming more and more popular in business and the internet is going to recognize blogs as a medium to increase more sales. I have added some more reasons why to use blogs.

1. Ease of Work
Compared to websites, blogs can be easily updated. Not like websites that require you to change html and republish it again. With the use of blog, within minutes, changes can be made.

2. Speed of Change
Compared to websites, changes can be done is minutes or even seconds. Websites require hours to make a change. It is very time consuming.

3. Speed of Delivery
Information seekers get to your information quickly. Also search engines can quickly pick up the information changes that you make.

4. Less organization
When you make posts to your blog, it is not necessary for it to be super organized just as websites do many html and codes. As long as the information was there and it is as if you were talking to your readers.

5. Ease of communication
Blogs has comment forms where readers can leave their feedback. The comments are important because this is the direct feedback of your readers, competitors, friends and clients.

6. Costs of Factors
Blogs only cost you few bucks like for the domain name and for hosting and nothing more, unless you get into advertising your blog.

7. Search engine love affair
Search engines loves updated blogs.

If you have more questions regarding about blogs contact me using the contact form. And watch out for more of my posts.

Making your Blog as your Website

Many webmasters are doing this. Maybe this doesn’t sound appealing for a newbie. But blogs are easy to use than websites and is easy to maintain. Have you tried visiting a website that is outdated? Let us face it, maintaining an updated website is not as easy as blogging, unless you got your team of people to constantly updating your website.

For this reason, you may want to use blog software to run a website. No? Still not convince? Okay I’ll give you an example. Haven’t you compare the costs of making a blog and a website? Got the idea? The beauty of this is price. Why pay companies to set you up a static website when you could just do it on your own.

The best part of using blogs is that you can change anything and anywhere as long as you have internet connection anything you want. You can add users, or email accounts just like what you’ve been doing to other sites. Everything was well set up. All you have to do is follow simple steps and you’re on!

Oh wait a minute! Haven’t I mention that you can add videos, music, photos, and just anything you want to add on your blog? And those users can easily subscribe to your blog using RSS feeds.

Blogging from Blogger to WordPress

I started my blog with Blogger free hosting. As you can see it has a “.blogspot.com” on it. I now wanted to use WordPress because it has many benefits than a Blogger blog can have. Like the plug-ins that you can install and the full control of your blog. Blogger and WordPress provide a friendly environment for bloggers. But most find blogging easy with Blogger. However, its limitations force bloggers to use WordPress.

I wanted to export my posts to WordPress. But I don’t want to lose a single post because maybe they are highly ranked in Google for key terms or for its search engine optimized permalinks. Or maybe I was just dreaming while writing this post. I know I am not there yet but maybe soon!

In exporting your posts from Blogger to WordPress, make sure to set your WordPress permalinks “exactly” the way that blogger has them or else you can lose all your indexed pages. This way you were able to export over all your files from blogger without losing one post.

Blogger format of blogging is easy and is user friendly but is quite tiring. Also, there are many limitations using Blogger and you just couldn’t do what you want to do. You are not in control of your blog. So if you can do blogging now with WordPress, do it now. You can also make websites and not just blog using WordPress. WordPress is easy to use just as Blogger.

Offline Blog Advertising!

There are a lot of online ways to promote your blog. But guess what, you could also do it offline! How?

Do you have vehicles at home? PUVs or Private ones? Then try customizing its body painting with your blog icon! You could do it with any other vehicles. Your blog gained more exposure to passengers and other people. You could also put stickers of your blog on it.

You could also make a customize shirt, jerseys, shorts etc with your blog  logo on it. People tend to look on designs so make a good looking one. A thing of beauty stays in mind of the people. Take advantage of that.

Earning Money With Your Less Traffic Blog

High traffic blogs have definitely the potential to earn. But it doesn't mean that your traffic stinks, you won't earn anything. I listed some ways on how to earn from a blog with less traffic.

1. Sell Ad Spaces

Go into some webmasters forums like Digital Point, Pinoy Money Talk, or Warrior Forums. Offer your services on the websites mentioned. Since your blog traffic is low, the price of your ad space must also be low. You can start with $1. Yes! You've read it right! For only $1, some advertisers tend to play safe and choose the cheaper ones. This is a good start for your monetization.

2. Paid Reviews

You can go websites like BuyBlogReviews and Sponsored Reviews . If your blog has a Page rank, take advantage of this. But some are still interested to no PR blogs. Earnings are small but it is better than nothing right? Just make sure to offer no follow links or you get penalized by Google.

3. Paid Links

Wordpress users and Movable Type could go to sites like Text Link Ads. You earn by placing some text links on your blog. I am a blogger user, TLA does not support blogspot. But you could offer such service by doing it private. Warning, Google hates TLAs. So choose other third party text links ad network.
